The Town of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, tested an aeration system for additional THM removal. The Tewksbury WTP measured real-time influent and effluent THM values using the online THM-100™ analyzer. Prior to using the online THM monitor, plant operators waited to receive analytical results from external analysis, often conservatively operating the facility since real-time THM values were not known. The real-time data provided by the online monitor made THM formation within the WTP and distribution system easy to identify.

The Brunswick & Topsham Water District (BTWD) in Maine was receiving high THM results despite implementation of best practices. The use of the THM-100™ online THM analyzer has proven a valuable tool enabling BTWD to optimize operations, better understand treatment processes, resolve THM compliance concerns and validate laboratory performance and results.

A California Water Utility experiencing elevated levels of hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] in their drinking water supply is the first commercial application to use the MetalGuard™ Cr(VI) real-time water quality monitor developed by AMS. Aigües de Barcelona, the leading water utility in Spain, has received accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Standard for using AMS’ online THM-100™ analyzer to continuously monitor THMs in its drinking water supply network, which serves 3,000,000 million inhabitants across metropolitan Barcelona. In addition to providing the utility with contract compliance and process optimization data, THM readings can now be used to submit regulatory compliance data.

The City of Santa Cruz Water Department (SCWD) has adopted the online THM-100™ THM analyzer for DBP management. Real-time and reliable data on THM and THM Formation Potential levels within the Graham Hill Water Treatment Plant and distribution network have been provided to the SCWD by the online analyzer. The THM-100 is a viable tool, among others, that enables plant operators to have a firm and immediate understanding of water quality leaving their plant and throughout their distribution network.
