The Instran® free ammonia analyzer provides rapid, real-time, multi-stream reliable analysis of free ammonia in both drinking water and wastewater treatment plants. The online analyzer provides high frequency data on free ammonia levels in nine minutes with sensitivity down to 0.01 ppm.

Southsea STS, a U.K.-based technical services company specializing in water quality, has a history of embracing and implementing new technologies and ideas to support compliance and control in buildings. Recently, Southsea has been evaluating new technologies for corrosion management as part of a pilot program with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the UK. Richard Lawson, Director for Southsea STS, gives a behind the scenes look of the pilot project on the use of AMS’ SafeGuard™ H2O stannous generator to provide corrosion inhibition water treatment for closed-loop heating and cooling systems. Current corrosion inhibitors are relatively expensive, potentially toxic to handle, and can have difficulty meeting requirements imposed for disposal. AMS has been selected to the Advanced Fuel Cycle Programme (AFCP) and Game Changers cross-sector solutions challenge for the treatment of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from nuclear fuel recycling off-gases to minimize the environmental impact of recycling operations. AFCP is led in partnership with the U.K. Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) who are collaborating with leading industrial, academic and research institutions to investigate the role of advanced nuclear fuels and fuel cycles for a Net Zero greenhouse gas emission future. AMS has been awarded funding to complete feasibility studies based on its unique SafeGuard™ H2O fully automated, on-demand, in-situ generator of stannous and tin dioxide. AMS will be demonstrating the power of tin to secure a clean energy future for all.
